Zur Erzielung höchster Sicherheitsstandard sind wichtige Komponenten des POSEIDON-Systems doppelt (redundant) ausgelegt. Bei Ausfall der Hauptkomponente übernimmt das Reserveaggregat automatisch alle Funktionen.
